This year's Children's Summer Reading Program will run from June 22nd - August 28th for children ages 5 to 13. That's ten whole weeks to track your reading, enter weekly raffles, and an awesome Grand Prize raffle at the end of the summer! And don't forget to join us for fun virtual programs all summer long too!  

• Use READsquared to track how long you read each day.

• Your goal is to read 60 minutes every week! Once you log 60 minutes of reading each week, you'll  be awarded a digital reading badge and automatically be entered into a weekly raffle for a gift card. The more you read, the better your chances are to win a weekly raffle!
• Any child who logs at least 60 minutes of reading during the summer will be invited to our End of Summer Ice Cream Party! 

• Once you reach 5 hours of reading, you'll be entered into our Grand Prize Raffle at the end of the summer. You can also earn an extra Grand Prize Raffle entry by reading at least an hour a week for all ten weeks of the Summer Reading Program, for a total of 10 hours of reading!

Parents: You can create an account for yourself first and then you can add additional accounts for each of your children.

You'll have ten weeks to track your reading, enter weekly raffles and an awesome Grand Prize raffle at the end of the summer! We'll also have plenty of fun virtual programs for you all summer long!

This program is designed for adults age 18 & up to encourage life-long reading habits.

• Use READsquared to track how long you read each day.

• Your goal is to read 100 minutes every week! Once you log 200 minutes of reading, you'll  be awarded a digital reading badge and automatically be entered into a raffle for a gift card.
  

• Once you reach 1,000 minutes of reading, you'll be entered into our Grand Prize Raffle to win a Kindle Fire HD at the end of the summer.
  

Read 1000 Books!

Sign up for UPL's 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program which encourages families to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten. 

• Read a book to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler and log each one using the READsquared website or app. You can also pick up a paper log from the library or use the official 1000 Books Before Kindergarten app! 
• The goal is to read 1000 books before your child starts kindergarten. You can repeat titles as well, so the 20th time you read The Day the Crayons Quit counts just as much as the 1st!
• Come to the library to pick out a special reward for every 100 book milestone you hit. 
• You'll also get an extra special reward once you've read 500 books and 1000 books!

Parents: You can create an account for yourself first and then you can add additional accounts for each of your children. That way you will have the ability to easily monitor your child's activity without having to login as each child.
